I have managed to establish myself professionally as a journalist and writer in two language environments – my native Czech and English.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Charles University in Prague, the Czech Republic, where I specialised in TV journalism and documentary making.
I started my career in the Czech Public Service Television (a Czech equivalent of the BBC), where I worked as a reporter and later scriptwriter and director on popular science and travel programmes.
After six years I took a career break to pursue further studies and eventually landed in London. I worked for nearly four years as a reporter at the Engineering and Technology magazine (the flagship magazine of the Institution of Engineering Technology), which has a readership of 200,000.
In 2017 I decided to go freelance. My clients include the European Space Agency, trade magazines such as Via Satellite, Engineering and Technology, Professional Engineering, as well as consumer-oriented science news outlets such as Space.com and LiveScience.
In my free time I run a health and psychology blog: Tereza’s Health Blog
Recently, I have finished my first novel, a layered psychological story called The Final Incarnation that explores topics including childhood trauma, how historical events shape people’s psychology, forgiveness, acceptance and finding meaning in life despite adversity.
