Notting Hill Carnival 2013

The Notting Hill Carnival is an amazing event. Started in the 1960s by the than oppressed Caribbean community, it has developed over the decades into one of the most massive cultural events taking place in London annually.

It’s a giant multicutural party,  a colourful parade of spectacular costumes, choreographies and music. It has grown from 400 participants in the mid-1960s to nearly a million and a half in 2012, generating some GBP90 million of profits.

The following video was shot for the Czech Public Service Television and, as I was lazy to translate the script into English, is only available here without a voice-over.

The Czech version is available at this website:  http://www.ceskatelevize.cz/porady/1096911352-objektiv/213411030400915/
